Editorial policy

Canadian Study & Immigration Centre publishes independent guides for people planning to study, work or immigrate to Canada. This page explains how we research, write and update them.

Our sources

  • We base our guides on official sources: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), other Government of Canada departments, provincial governments and the schools we write about.
  • Each guide links to the official pages we used, so you can check the details yourself.
  • We use news reports and other websites only to find out that something has changed. We confirm the change on an official page before we publish it.

How we keep guides up to date

  • Each guide shows the date it was last checked.
  • When IRCC or a school announces a change, we review and update the affected guides.
  • We review time-sensitive guides, such as deadlines, fees and the study permit cap, at least once a year.

What our guides are, and aren’t

Our guides are general information, not legal or immigration advice. Rules change often and every application is different. For advice on your own situation, use a licensed immigration consultant or lawyer. Read our full disclaimer.

Independence and affiliations

We’re not affiliated with the Government of Canada. We offer paid admission consultations, and some guides mention our education partner, Tour Guide BD. Where a partnership is relevant, we say so in the guide. See About us for details.
