About

Canadian Study & Immigration Centre is an independent website that explains how studying and immigrating to Canada works, in plain language.

Canada’s rules change often, and official information is spread across many pages. We bring it together into clear guides that follow the path most newcomers take: from a study permit, to a work permit, to permanent residence and, finally, citizenship.

How we write our guides

  • Sourced. Every rule we describe links to the official page it comes from, usually on canada.ca.
  • Dated. Each guide shows when it was last updated, so you can tell whether it reflects current rules.
  • Realistic. We explain the odds and the trade-offs. Nobody can guarantee a visa, and we never will.

What we are not

We are not part of the Government of Canada and we are not a law firm or an immigration consultancy. We do not prepare or submit applications and we do not take payment for immigration advice.

For official information, go to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). For advice on your own situation, use a licensed immigration consultant listed with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), or a lawyer who is a member of a Canadian law society.
